Microsoft… WHY?!? (Contains Profane Language)

Warning: This post contains profane language. While I have kept it as mild as I can I have to provide my honest feelings if I didn’t it would be an insult to you my readers.

Today Microsoft announced the next line of the Xbox series of game systems. The announcement was by and large about the hardware that they were releasing and I believe that there was 8 games total mentioned: 4 were EA Sports title (bleh), Halo was mentioned though mostly for the Steven Spielberg tie in Television Show, Call of Duty 4 or 5 was mentioned, and finally a Forza game. However by and large most of the console was the focus, and … sadly this humorous video is a quasi-accurate representation of the presentation. Edit: I almost forgot a game and only caught this in editing the final game involves a girl with some sort of mental powers… beyond that your guess is as good as mine.(While what I’m linking is to Kotaku, most of what I am linking is the same across different platforms including Gamespot, various Twitter feeds, and of course Kotaku themselves.)

Nintendo’s Growing Pleas for Attention

Okay maybe this is just me but it seems like Nintendo is growing increasingly desperate for not only attention but sales.  We all know the Wii was vaunted as a success for Nintendo since it sold so well to the “everyday” or “casual” consumer.  The thing SOLD to nursing homes after all as a way to help their residents increase physical activity.  But honestly I don’t really see it as a success…

200 Followers? Half Birthdays? Whaaa?

Hey, hey, hey!  We are getting close to 200 followers for my cast at Twitch (currently at 186 as of 5/11/13)!  I would love to hit 200 before I also do my 1/2 Birthday cast.  Speaking of which I’m looking at the weekends of June 1st, or June 8th for the cast please let me know what you think, and why, as I’d love to do this for as many people as I can. I’m not sure which weekend works better for me at this point but one of those is the date I’m considering.

Secondary Post for the Day

Alright just a super quick update here folks.  If you happen to see a post that isn't properly edited to be easy to read (i.e. something like its missing line breaks between paragraphs) please let me know.  Unfortunately there is something in the program I use to write these that doesn't properly translate once its up on the actual site so I have to manually go in and insert proper breaks in places.  Its a royal pain in the rear, and like so many other things I'm going to look into updating and getting away from the Google standard, however until I do so its something that we get to grin and bear with.  Once more, thank you for reading the blog.

Most of you would recognize this from the Anime Bleach as it was featured in the season 6 (I believe) opening theme song.  The first bit is the Kanji of the song, the next is the Romaji or how the characters translate out audibly, and of course the final is the English translation.  Believe it or not thanks to a very good friend of mine, who shall remain anonymous unless she desires otherwise I own a copy of this particular song on CD.  I can’t thank her enough as there are days when this song lingers in my mind and refuses to depart.

Why can’t people understand this? Part 1

It’s really not something that’s difficult.  In fact I’d say it’s fairly basic, something most people I think take for granted a little too much.  Let me see if I can lay this out to you in something a little more informative and engaging then me being blunt. Now we have our second scenario. This time the waitress is still showing poor customer service to start with, so that aspect doesn’t change at all. However she apologizes instead of arguing and talks to the chef immediately. Both of these are vast improvements; however there’s still a problem.

As I sit here….

I HATE failure in all of its forms.  Correction I hate it when I fail in all of its forms.  I have always had what you might call a fear of failing (FoF  for short) instilled in me at a young age.  I was raised to believe that I could be anything that I wanted, and my grandmother pushed me further into believing that I was the best at anything I put my mind to.  As is so often the case we are lead to believe things as children that don’t always prove to be true as adults.

Opinions are like …

I’ve had the question posed to me “Well why don’t you go to forums?” a few times both in chat and out side of it.  There are several reasons some are personal, most are not.  One of the main reasons comes down to a saying that my Mother likes to throw around: “Opinions are like butt holes (note I altered this for language") everyone has one, and just about everyone thinks theirs is the best".”

April Fools Day

Maybe I’m strange, but I personally hate this day.  Every year on the first of April the world seems to go crazy with “fool you” fever.  Everyone seems to think that its fun and harmless and that everyone gets in on the laugh.  However for me the day has always been one that’s been rather torturous and by and large evil, nothing fun what so ever.

Feeling Like a Louse (if you don’t know look up louse in the dictionary)

I have family all around me.  2 per bedroom, several out in the living room…. any one more and we’d be putting people under the dining room table, in the bathtub, or in the kitchen.  There isn’t a single place to sit available in the apartment at any given time.  I couldn’t be happier… sadder, and more lonely all at the same time.

A Betrayal of Trust?

Today casters all over Twitch just got hit with what many consider a massive betrayal by Twitch.tv , in limiting the number of people you can follow from 100 up to 250.  This SEEMS like a plus right?  Well  that's both right and wrong.  There has never been an announced limit that I am aware of to the number of follows that a person can have on their account, but now they are limiting us.  This means that for smaller streamers like myself people are much less likely to follow us because they have other casters… larger casters that they are going to want to follow.

A few things to update…

I thought I’d just make a quite post explaining some of the things that I need or want to update for the cast.  For the most part these things are relatively minor… I can continue the cast without them, however they would help my cast at www.twitch.tv/bluemagican to make it look more professional or to help make things more functional.

Week of 3/10/13 Review (Through Friday)

Well here we go again.  Another week another round of disappointments with a few bright spots.  Employment wise no good news although I do wish I had some good information, but its just not really happy.  I hope things improve but at the same time I am really beginning to wonder.

Lonely, I’m Mr. Lonely…

So I’ve start casting once more and so far I must admit that this week has been a disappointment.  So far this week I’m averaging less then 5 viewers a cast and twitch requires 400 average viewers to make partner.  Partner would give me quality buttons and a way to help pay for casting, as well s buying games and such.  I’m happy to see so many great casters hitting over 2,000 viewers ( www.twitch.tv/lethalfrag had over 7,000 at one point last night ) I just wish I could get a small share of that.

 

A new start

I’m about to start casting for the third day back from my unwanted 3 month vacation.  This is both easier and more difficult then I particularly thought it would be.  combined with everything else that’s going on in my life I hope it will prove to be a good idea, though I admit that I fear some how it will end up being a mistake.  I am happy to see that as I watch one of my favorite casters is up to almost 5,000 viewers, I feel envious of @Crumps2, and yet am happy for his success.

 

Death and Rebirth

Hello everyone, I hope that you will welcome me back into your lives as once again I hope to start writing on this blog, and upon my web site.  A great many things have changed for me, and I won’t go into detail here, for the people who matter most, they either already know or they will find out when they contact me.  Suffice to say this blog will no longer have the sole focus on games and electronics, instead I must adjust this blog to more appropriately reflect who I am, and though that I intend and hope to show my love of games and electronics.

Update 1/9/13

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  I know it’s a bit late for it but still the idea is there.  I apologize for being quiet and not casting however I do have some good news.  I will soon be moving into a new much smaller place.  Not my ideal situation but better then having your car for a home.  Look for more updates to come, and hopefully around 1/17 or so I will be able to start casting once more.  I apologize once more for being gone so long but I have a lot of news to share with everyone.  Please if you read this take the time to send me a email at bluetechmagi@gmail.com to let me know of what casting time YOU’D LIKE (remember I’m in the Pacific time zone).  Thanks!
