The reason for this is simple, politics by and large are something that comes down to perspective and opinion. Most people I know have a saying about perspective that my Grandmother (a woman who rarely cusses… at least around children) says: “Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, and everyone is entitled to one… just don’t try to wipe mine”. By and large I agree with this… everyone is entitled to believe what they want (as a general anyway) and trying to change that is rather rude, crude, and unless the person wants to change is an exercise in futility.
However there are times as a someone who has studied speech and communications, you just have to put your foot down and say something. As someone who has studied communications I will freely admit and say that there is absolutely no reporting agency in America that is free from some sort of political bias. Part of that is because no matter how objective anyone attempts to be 100% objectivity is impossible, which is why it is always advisable to check at least 2 different news sources preferably 3 with at least one being from outside of the country (BBC for example is a great source) before talking as if you know something for concrete fact when it comes to something reported in the news. In short, do your research.
However IN this case I have to agree with an article posted on Gizmodo. In this article they talk about Rupert Murdoch, who has his fingers in everything from journalism to politics. The end of the message they urge people to watch a documentary called Outfoxed, and I agree with them on this as well. It serves as a good reminder that how using just one news source gives you a biased view of your world.
