Spooky…

Last night in my cast in the last hour or so(Feel free to go back and watch it here) I was talking about predictions for this years E3.  As I mentioned we would almost certainly be hearing more information, if only rumors, about the next XBox 360 and Playstation system.  One of the things I mentioned however, which actually upset some of my viewers as a possibility, seems to have at one point been a possibility…

Isn’t it lovely?

There has been a problem with XBox 360 accounts being stolen.  It’s a known fact and one that Microsoft doesn’t like to admit.  I find it some what frightening though the reasons and the happenstance behind it.

The Possible Ramifications are Frightening

Sometimes the deeper meaning of an event escapes us. Things that we would like to think we would have noticed immediately don’t catch our attention until sometime later. Talking about Diablo 3 there are some ramifications that occur that I personally hadn’t considered but are never the less somewhat frightening to consider.

Comcast, you surprise me!

While this certainly isn’t the news that I had hoped to hear it is none the less good news for anyone who is a Comcast subscriber.  They have just raised the 250GB data usage limit to 300GB.  As found via Gizmodo this is good news as that 50GB I’m sure will prove handy, though I personally had hoped to see 500 GB  or more…

As predicted…

I’ve spoken out against the idea of games with an “always on” strategy for preventing piracy.  The idea, for anyone who doesn’t know, is that you MUST BE ONLINE AT ALL TIMES in order to play the game even the single player part of the game.  By doing this you are signed into your account with the game company and they can monitor and verify that you are who you say you are and are playing a legal copy of their game.

Did you ever wonder?

Sometimes a commercial is oddly accurate… if overly dramatic.  The latest commercial from Gamefly as I found on Kotaku does an oddly accurate if not highly over dramatic (most of the time anyway) response to the prices that said store gives its customers.  While I don’t work for them any more I worked for them for over two years and you get to see all kinds of ugly nasty reactions, however a pout or anger are the most common reactions.  Anyway give a view… see if you’d like to work for the company.

Wow alot of news today...

This is a unusual day, normally I try to keep the posts to one a day as I don't want to overwhelm readers since I know I'm long winded at times.  However today Kotaku has really hit the ball out of the ball park and posted an excellent article that I myself was working on a version of for this blog.  However I want to tackle the shorter of the two articles first  I'll let you read it for yourselves, but lets just say once I actually tried Steam.. Is aw this coming.

First the News, and then… The rest of the story…

Okay I already referenced Mr. Harvey once, but at the same time this seems appropriate.  Late last night as I was crawling in bed ((no not literally) … badum tish) I had to move the bag that I have for my little netbook.  Yeah they stink… not good for much etc. etc. etc. I keep it by my bed in case I wake up inspired or can’t sleep.  Anyway moved my bag and it was oddly heavy.  Upon checking out the bag (which I had moved hours earlier and noticed NOTHING odd about) I found my missing DSi and games!

… a test that will take a little while…

Sorry still making adjustments to the blog and testing the RSS system.  I managed to get it set up last night, however I didn’t get a chance to test the auto update capabilities to ensure that it was what I wanted.  So this is me testing the second part.  There might be more tests to come.

Something of a test…

Alright this is going to sound odd but I realized I’ve failed some on my job here.  I haven’t been using all of the tools at my disposal to make my endeavor here a success and in that respect I have failed everyone who reads this blog.  I sincerely apologize for that and am working to use some of this hip new tech like them “RSS feeds” and “Page Jumps” so you don’t get hit with quite so much wall of text when visiting the blog.  I apologize in advance if this means you get spammed, or if the blog or website look odd because of it.  I’m attempting to build a more cohesive whole.

A Mini-update

My office space such as it is, is about to be invaded.  Since I will assume that people who follow me in the various forms of media (blog, website, casting, twitter) would prefer to me to continue my progress and journey such as it is with out interruption.  Tomorrow I will be relocating my office into our spare bedroom.  While this does present certain issues in and of its own accord hopefully most of them will be minor (since we get house guests about twice a year).  However this may also mean that I'll be off line while I rearrange, reorganize, and otherwise juggle things around.  My apologies in advance.

Mistakes of the past…

It often surprises me when you read about someone doing a mistake that someone else has done in the past.  I’m not talking about small silly mistakes… no I’m talking about things that alter the courses of entire industries, or nations, or events of that caliber.  Certain events seem like they would be common and something that were easy to spot.  However even in these modern times we have them occurring.

I here by apologize for this, but ask you to read it anyway

Normally I try to keep my nose clear of politics.  In fact I have a formal position on politics and that is that you don’t discuss them with:
  • Friends
  • Family
  • Coworkers
  • Anyone else you want to keep a healthy positive relationship with.
